Latest PTR including excise duty and MRP of Medicines
Under DPCO, 2013 To comply with para 13 (3), 16 (1), 16 (4), 16 (5) and 24 (3) in their entirety, every manufacturer is required to share its price list and supplementary price list throughout the supply chain i.e. original manufacturers, importer, marketing company, trader, C&F agent, stockiest, wholesaler, semi-wholesaler, dealer, retailer, hospitals and doctors (as applicable), to NPPA and to all SDCs (State Drug Controllers) in respect of both scheduled and non scheduled drug formulations, both own-manufactured and those purchased or imported from others, along with medicine composition, pack size, price to the retailers (PTR including excise duty) and MRP (which is inclusive of local taxes).
In fact, It is a big task to Share the revised price list from time to time vide form V with the entire supply chain, NPPA and all SDCs in physical or electronic form.
Also The DPCO, 2013 requires every retailer to display the current price list and supplementary price list, if any, of both scheduled and non-scheduled formulations based on price list issued to him in Form V by the manufacturers, but it is observed that most of the retail outlets are not complying with this requirement on the ground of space constraint, as the number of SKUs they deal in may run into several thousand. As a result, the consumer is generally unaware about the medicines that are scheduled under DPCO, 2013 and whose prices are controlled by the Government and are, therefore, vulnerable to the possibility of being overcharged.
To supplement the need of sharing current price list and supplementary price list as well display of the current price list and supplementary price list, if any, we have developed a corner “Search Medicine Prices” wherein our Member companies can input price lists for all stakeholders across the supply chains i.e. original manufacturers, importer, marketing company, trader, C&F agent, stockiest, wholesaler, semi-wholesaler, dealer, retailer, hospitals and doctors (as applicable) to Share the revised price list. Therefore, the same information can be used at the retail level while issuing invoice to the consumer.
We are sure of sharing price lists through our website would be feasible and financially economical option for our Member companies to avoid any unnecessary hassles.
